This hiking trail south africa is a "pampered" hike where you need carry no heavy kitbag with. A guide accompanies you and all meals are laid on. It includes a stay at a Xhosa homestead on the 5th night. The 5-day 5-night hikin trail covers a total distance of 83 kilometers. We meet and interact with a Xhosa family the last day on the hiking trail.

Day1:
We begin the Amatola Trail at the entrance to a magnificent forest through which we wind our way to an overnight hut where beautiful views and sunsets can be enjoyed.

Day2:
Today's hike is through mountain forest and glade to the overnight hut beautifully situated above a forest waterfall.

Day3:
We hike in rugged terrain over hills, down valleys and through forests that blanket the mountains before reaching our day's destination high in the hills.

Day4:
We climb a mountain peak where the views are forever, before descending down a spectacular gorge with many waterfalls to our overnight stop in a lonely valley on the hiking trail.

Day5:
After a stiff climb through more lush indigenous forest, we cross into the Wolf River catchment area and follow a magnificent stream to our overnight stay with a Xhosa family.

Day5:
We spend the morning at leisure touring the region on our way back to East London.
